.Stranger Then Fiction.

We took our time,
found the campsite just fine,
grabbed enough branches,
to last us the night.

Built a fire,
kept fanning the flames,
wet wood will burn,
if you know the way.

"Here take these."

Was all that we knew.

Watched the sun go down;
with the plants strange brew.

Blood red moon;
a sliver of dagger,
rose then fell;
with an ominous flavor.

Smoke some toke,
see what goes down,
get a little silly,
while the stars start spinnin around.

Just like that;
it all collapsed.

Sirens in the distance,
start a panic and flap,
the tree told our friend,
to give them the Salvia and DMT.

So buried in the ground it sure did seem,
the safest place, to hide these things;
from the ugly arm of civilization,
reaching out to extinguish our dream.

Then *snap*,
our brains did flip;
perception became a thing that was confizzled.

"It must be the fairies"
The only rational thought.
Camping in a circle can get pretty hot.

A dog barking far,
brought images of police,
then we realized,
it was no vicious beast.

At that moment,
in that time,
it became apparent,
we'd be just fine.

Even though the barking;
was a million miles away,
it appeared to be right in front of us that day.

One could reach out and touch,
the dogs blaring noise,
pretty soon it was evident,
space and time had no meaning.

The dog barking far away;
was right in front of us that evening.

"AAHHG The fairies, they're up to it again!"

Retreating to our tents,
we tried to be men.

The trees told me stories,
of history past;
of man kinds development,
an animals wrath.

Meaty things;
born out of plants,
to make fertilizer,
to advance their chance.

Spinning and spinning,
they sent my mind reeling,
watching the stars,
with a completed sense of being.

When faster and faster;
my thoughts did race,
until the sun poked up;
and filled us with grace.

Whoooo boy;
look at that;
the thoughts went flat.

Suddenly realizing:
simply being,
is where it's at.

Laying there being;
without a wink of sleep,
watching the sun come back up,
upside down,
near the lake.

Human kind,
had it so easy then,
just be,
and exist,
and make some new friends.

Now even the animals,
try to ignore,
the civilization,
that grunts and roars.

They all just be,
man kind moves on,
never content,
to hear the sweet birds song.

Crawling out of our tents,
we all lost our minds,
it felt really great,
to be in touch with the divine,
that hides in the wilderness,
secreted away,
engravings on a machete;
our proof of the day.

The trees played us good.

Walked out feeling Greek;
like a philosopher of old,
our logic has been set,
by the druids untold.

Smile... It won't kill ya : A Poem.

I wrote this a few years ago when I was a bottle bum... Those are the people you see pushing carts/wagons full of bottles they've collected from the garbage to take to the recycle depot in exchange for a small amount of money.

Smile... It won't kill ya : A Poem.

As I push this cart down the street,
covered in grim, and sweat and gross sheet,
my smile beams wide and true,
I'm apparently having much more fun then you!

Frowning and staring straight ahead,
the finely dressed people mess with my head,
you got the nice cloths, the house and the spouse;
so where be that smile, to show it off to the world without?

Don't tell me your sad, or mad, even with all your grand establishment?

You got a car, a family, and more money then is necessary, and when a mofo with a cart and smile slogs on by, you stare straight ahead, unable to look your fellow man in the eye!

What is it then, that the poor around me,
are smiling quiet keenly, while still you are steaming;
inside the SUV you break your back to pay off,
going to the house that sucks the adventures dead before they take off,
to the wife that shrieks, a selfish bitch,
and the children that scream constantly, you shoulda taught them to fish.

Then in on the morrow you go back to the job,
that makes you wanna kill yourself every day that you show up.

So back to the push with my sunshine smile I go,
leaving you to a life that's cushy and plated in gold!
To deal with the bitch, and the brats, and bills;
so that I can leave my head in the clouds,
talking to whatever should find me a deal.

.Words I Like.

Was falling a sleep the other night when it occured to me I might forget some words, and already have, that brought a weird comfort as a wee kid.

Night Light.
Glow Bright.
Fire Fly.
Mischief.
Creeping.
Strange Folk.
Star.
Dark Star.

And thinking about this little tiny point of light in a never ending darkness...

Then feeling like a grain of sand.
